Health Information Specialist

InDxLogic is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Health Information Specialist. As a Health Information Specialist, you will play a crucial role in accurately categorizing medical record documents to facilitate efficient retrieval and analysis for our clients. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of healthcare data management from the comfort of your own home.

Education Requirements
  • Education or certification in health information management, health information technology, healthcare administration, medical coding, or related fields; or related experience in similar fields.
Experience Requirements
  • Prior experience in medical records indexing, medical coding, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and indexing processes.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using computer software applications and proficient in data entry.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret data and collaborate with team members remotely.
  • Medical Knowledge: Proficiency with medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, diseases, and diagnostic/treatment procedures.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in software applications related to health records including spreadsheets, database applications, data analytics, and electronic health records.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Solid interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on driving customer satisfaction.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clinical Document Category Identification: Accurately review medical record documents using our proprietary software application. Create pertinent medical record documentation identification mappings according to established guidelines and protocols into the indexing system with precision and attention to detail.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, managing client interactions and communications related to assigned projects to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Autonomous Project Management: Independently manage the overall performance of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Utilize a logical understanding of data to prioritize project deliverables to meet project deadlines and service- level agreements.
  • Review and Analysis: Review and analyze periodic reports and metrics to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with team members and project managers to address any challenges, share best practices, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
